Spiritual War

Watch me as I run through clouds,
The fog left far behind.
I open my eyes under water,
Its sting won’t steal my sight.
I take a knife to the brush,
The weeds dodge as I pass.
Step on sticks, peel off stuck ticks, and grab hold of what will last.

Don’t tell me to slow down,
To wash my walls with white.
Bring on the battle,
I’m sculpted for a fight.
As leaves turn orange in trembling,
As waves toss frantically,
I grab a sword and praise the Lord for what He placed in me.

Food lost its taste,
I hunger for the truth.
Fire up the cannons,
This rebel’s on the loose.
I’ll fear no opposition,
Live not for man’s applause.
Obey His voice, let the earth rejoice and watch as darkness falls.

In a world that’s full of lies, it’s important to hold fast to the truth of God’s word. People may try to tell you about the moral thing to do. Always weigh what the world tells you against God’s word to see if what you’re hearing is true.

The Bible teaches us right and wrong. The right thing to do is not always the most popular thing. In fact, those who don’t know Christ may regard our actions as evil or intolerant.

“Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets.” Luke 6:22-23

Loving others does not mean we must condone sinful behavior. We can love people as children of God and still fight for what is right. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood (people) but against spiritual forces.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

As you walk with Christ, and fight darkness through Him, remember who the enemy is. Our battle is not against those who are lost. We ought to earnestly pray for their salvation. Pray that they have a divine encounter with God and revelation of Who Jesus is. Jesus loves them SO much. He gave His life, and rose again for them.

Our battle is against the devil and evil spiritual forces. One of the best ways we as Christians can fight evil in the world is to pray. Pray for God’s Holy Spirit to break down walls, remove blinders, and open the eyes of people’s hearts. He can do it. No one is beyond His reach!

“And looking at them Jesus said to them, ‘With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” Matthew 19:26
